Sunday School
Welcome! Here's a brief overview of our Sunday School at Fairview United Church.
At Fairview United, the children are put into classes based on their age and grade. We
have a Nursery (ages birth to Age 4), Primary/Grade 1(ages 5-6), Grades 2 and 5
(ages 7-9), Grades 6-8 (ages 10-13) and a High School Class Grade 9-12 (ages 14 and up).
All classes now use the "Season of the Spirit" curriculum, which follows the lectionary.
Throughout the year, the children from the older classes often take part in dramas during the
church service as well as reading scripture. At Christmas time all Sunday School children and
teachers take a leading role in the White Gift Service. This is a fun-filled way for the children
to learn more about the wonderful Christmas story.
We are very fortunate to have very dedicated Sunday School Teachers as well as many wonderful volunteers from the congregation who look after the opening each Sunday.
At Fairview United, we feel it is important to teach our children about outreach and community involvement. We sponsor a child from Bangladesh through Families For Children.
